The Perfect Country

How It Started

They say, ‘work hard, play hard.’ You didn’t have to tell me twice.

Being born and raised in New York City, I embodied my city’s sharp edginess and unstoppable pulse. I wanted my vacations to mirror some of that energy but with quicker access to entertainment, and it landed me in the typical places.

I can’t tell you how many trips I’ve taken to the triple threat: Miami, Vegas and LA. All the spots – you name it, I’ve been there. Though my traveling patterns then had little variation, I had a lot of fun and met a lot of people, all of which intuitively led me closer to what it meant to be a traveler.

So Much More to See

Just as I grew tired of my normal travel routine, I relocated to London, and lived part-time in Hong Kong and Tokyo. Being exposed to multiple new cultures deepened my perspective and opened my eyes. I began to experience the joys of country-hopping. With an abundance of flights in reach in those 4 years living abroad, my appetite for travel grew and grew. After my time spent in Europe and Asia, I realized how much more was out there in the world to see. I could never limit myself again. Going forward, I resolved to experience as much of it as I could.

Since that revelation, I’ve visited more than 80 countries, often repeating, to get the full dose a place has to offer.

Is there a perfect country? The question is as elusive as ever. Maybe we’ll find the answer. One thing we do know:
